How EVIDENT protects Data Room documents
The Data Room contains some of the most sensitive material on the platform — deal terms, counterparty information, financial data, and confidential reporting. We protect it with several layers of security.
1. Tiered access
Documents are organised into three access tiers — Signed In, Verified, and Investors. You only see documents your account status entitles you to see. Higher-tier documents simply aren't fetched for users below the required tier.
2. View-only delivery
Documents are displayed in a secure in-browser viewer with download functionality programmatically disabled. You can read them as long as you have access, but you can't save a local copy without our involvement.
3. Watermarking
Many documents are watermarked with your account identifier on every page — so if a screenshot or photo were to leak, we'd be able to trace it back to the originating account.
4. NDA enforcement
For assets with an NDA, document viewing is gated on signing the NDA first — creating a contractual obligation to keep the material confidential.
5. Access revocation
If your access status to an asset changes (for example, you redeem and no longer hold units), Tier 3 (Investors) access is removed and those documents become invisible to you again.
