Which authenticator apps does EVIDENT support?

Supported authenticator apps

EVIDENT works with three widely-used authenticator apps:

• Google Authenticator — free, available on iOS and Android
• Microsoft Authenticator — free, available on iOS and Android, supports cloud backup
• Authy — free, available on iOS, Android, and desktop, supports multi-device sync

Which to choose

All three work equivalently for 2FA purposes. If you already use one for another service, stick with that. If you're choosing fresh:

• Authy is good if you want sync across multiple devices
• Microsoft Authenticator is good if you want backup to your Microsoft account
• Google Authenticator is the simplest option

What we don't support

EVIDENT doesn't currently support SMS-based 2FA, since SMS-based authentication is more vulnerable to SIM-swap attacks than app-based time-based one-time passwords (TOTP).
