Asset legal structures
Behind the scenes, each asset on EVIDENT is structured using one of three legal wrappers. The wrapper determines the specific confirmation document you receive on subscription, commitment, or trade, and the legal nature of your ownership stake.
Beneficial Interest
You hold a beneficial interest in the underlying asset, typically via a trust structure. Documentation includes a Trust Certificate as your record of ownership.
Limited Partnership Interest
You hold an LP interest in a fund or partnership. Documentation includes a Receipt of Capital Contribution and a Partnership Agreement governing your relationship with the General Partner.
Shares
You own shares directly in a corporate vehicle. Documentation includes an Allotment Letter and the Articles of Association of the issuing entity.
