Allotment
Allotment is the moment when units of an asset are formally issued to you. Your escrowed funds are converted into units, and the holding appears in your portfolio.
When allotment happens
The timing of allotment depends on the deal:
- For some primary commitments, allotment happens shortly after the commitment window closes
- For others, allotment may be delayed until certain conditions are met (such as the deal achieving a minimum funding threshold or completing legal close)
- For Subscription & Redemption funds, allotment happens at the next NAV date after your subscription
What you'll receive
When allotment occurs, you'll receive a confirmation document specific to the asset structure:
- Allotment Letter for share-based investments
- Trust Certificate for Beneficial Interest structures
- Receipt of Capital Contribution for Limited Partnership investments
These are stored in your Account Centre under My Documents — your formal record of ownership.
